Hijama (Cupping Therapy)

What is Hijama?

Hijama, also known as cupping therapy, is a traditional healing treatment in which specialised cups are placed on the skin to create localised suction. This draws blood flow to the surface, releases tension in the underlying muscles, and — in wet cupping — allows a small, controlled release of stagnant blood. It is a well-established practice within Sunnah/traditional medicine and is now widely offered as a complementary wellness service alongside modern spa and physiotherapy treatments.
